SERVICES
Chiropractic
care: we use traditional manual
chiropractic adjustments, primarily in the specific Gonstead method. We
believe that adjustments do not need to be rough in order to be
effective; this allows us to adjust anyone from a newborn, to a 250 lb
athlete to a senior with osteoporosis.
Acupuncture:
we
use traditional needle acupuncture to complement our chiropractic
treatments. We use
the standard clean needle procedures.
Our point formulas are based on the
Traditional Oriental Medicine diagnosis based on pulse and
tongue patterns.
Please
note that our office uses acupunture as a therapy to
compliment and enhance our chiropractic approach. As such, we
do
not offer acupuncture as a stand-alone therapy.
Auriculotherapy:
is
a cousin of acupuncture performed only on the ear and using a small
electrical current rather than a needles.
It has a variety of applications for pain
control and some in addiction management.
Massage
therapy: our
massage therapist, Christine, uses gentle
deep tissue and various soft tissue techniques for individuals with
acute
injuries or more chronic muscular problems. Massage is also
provided for
clients seeking general body maintenance for
wellness. Patients with
chronic and difficult conditions will be co-managed by Dr. Fletcher and
Christine. The massages are typically 30 or 60
minutes in
length. The pressure is modified to patient
tolerance. Only the area
being massaged is exposed at any given time while the rest of your body
remains
covered with a sheet.
Active
Release Technique: ART
is a patented method to treat difficult soft tissue injuries using
specific contacts and movements. Dr.
Fletcher is ART certified for the upper extremity.
ART is extremely useful for shoulder and
rotator cuff problems, chronic tendinitis and some carpal tunnel cases.
Phototherapy
( AKA “ Cold Laser”): certain
light waves in the near red and infrared spectrum are known to
accelerate the healing rate of all tissues, but especially those that
normally heal slowly, such as ligaments, tendons and nerves. Phototherapy is completely
painless safe to
use when other therapies
such as ultrasound are contraindicated.
Nutritional
therapy: Our approach to nutritional
therapy includes both diet and food management as well as
supplementation. Proper
nutritional intervention should be based on your history, health
condition, and needs. To
that effect, we will often need some kind of assessment to tailor a
program that works for you and does not require excessive
supplementation. Some
of the tests that we commonly use are:
health
surveys and diet history, mineral hair analysis, saliva hormone tests,
blood allergy tests, and the standard blood tests performed by your
physicians. See the
resources and links for a list of our labs and nutritional suppliers.
Custom
foot orthotics: many
of our patients have foot and ankle problems that w ill continue to
trigger their spine problems. Custom
orthotics can correct those problems.
Unlike
standard insoles that are purchased over the counter, these orthotics
are based on an imprint of your foot and made specifically for you. They can fit in a variety
of shoes and their lifespan is 3-5 yrs.
Coordination
of care: since
most of our patients present with some complex conditions, we will
often need to work in coordination with your primary doctor and other
specialists. We routinely request and review your other records and
update your other doctors upon request to ensure that you receive all
the care that you need.
